Kenya’s Olympic and world 800 metres record holder David Rudisha is keen to run a double at Glasgow Commonwealth Games next month. The 25-year-old, who is bouncing back after a long injury lay-off, wants to compete in both the 4x400m relay and the 800m, the distance he became the first man to break the one minute 41 seconds barrier at the 2012 London Olympic games last August.
But the decision whether or not Rudisha will be allowed to do the double at the July 23-August 3 championships in Scotland will depend on the Kenyan coaches, who will talk over options with the athlete when the team starts residential training in Nairobi next week.
