Former German Motocross champion Jurgen Kuppers is confident Ugandan riders can make it to professional ranks if nurtured well.

Kupper told the NewVision in an interview that he is impressed by the level Uganda’s young riders respond to training.

“They are good and can be professionals in future. They young ones responds quickly to whatever I teach them and I’m Impressed,” Kupper stated.

He cited Fortune Ssentamu as one of the future best rider.

Kupper who is in Uganda to train the national team was however concerned with the fitness levels of the competitors.

“They are good riders with skills but they are weak. After three rounds they break down which is not good for motocross which requires maximum fitness,” Kupper stated.

He explained that he will be forming up a fitness group for Uganda riders so that they work on their fitness even during his absence.

Meanwhile Youngsters Jojo Wilson and Talha Kiggundu have vowed to give Arthur Blick Jr a run for his money in the battle for this year’s MX1 category title in the national motocross championship that starts next Sunday in Busiika.

“I’m ready for this year’s championship,” Jojo stated.

The young star who recently upgraded to a Kawasaki 2010 model 450cc bike with 2013 adjustments from a 125cc class added that he is eagerly waiting for opening round to battle both Blick and Maxime.
