With this year’s Kisumu rally will attract a lot more attention as Kenyan drivers will put on line some of the latest rally cars.

Ronald Sebuguzi, Duncan “Kikakane” Mubiru and Jas Mangat are among those taking part in the February 21st event.

Sebuguzi, the current Ugandan rally champion will race in a Mitsubishi EVO X, formerly owned by Jaspreet Chatthe. He will be co-driven by Moses Matovu currently based in Tanzania.

Sebuguzi is expected to complete the purchase of the Oryx Rally Tanzania winning car as he prepares for Uganda’s opening round in Mbarara.

The two times Ugandan champion Jas Mangat in his Mitsubishi EVO X will also grace the event with Cedric Buzabo in the co-driver’s seat.

Duncan Mubiru still has vivid memories of Kisumu. The Subaru driver retired with mechanical problems at the same rally last year. He will team up with Musa Nsubuga to call the pace notes.

Adam Essa is among the many whose participation is still pending approval. The Ugandan crews will however be up against some of the best rally cars on the continent.

The Kenyan scene has seen the arrival of a Ford Fieta R5 owned by Manvir Baryan.

Three Super 2000s machines as well as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions have also been dominating the KNRC series for years. Rajbir Rai is the Kisumu defending champion.
