Uganda’s small squad of seven swimmers that is male and female bagged 6 bronze medals at just concluded CANA Zone IV swimming championship in Luanda, Angola.
Uganda Sports Press Association swimmer of the year Nabil Ahmed Saleh won a bronze medal in the boys 200 meter freestyle and 4×100 freestyle relay. Ambala Atuhaire, scooped a bronze in the boys 800 meters freestyle and 4×100 freestyle relay.
Uganda’s team was led by captain Avice Meya others on the tea include Josiah Ssempa, Mukalazi Tendo, Namutebi Kirabo, Adnan Kabuye, Fadhil Saleh, Nabil Saleh, Ambala Atuhaire and coach Muzafaru Muwanguzi, who also doubled as the team manager.
Other winners included Tendo Mukalazi, who won a bronze in the boys 50 butterfly race while Adnan Kabuye, won a similar medal in the boys 4×100 freestyle relays.
Josiah Ssempa had a personal best in 200 Breaststroke while Avis Meya, Uganda’s team captain had a personal best in 50 meter Butterfly.
