The Mountain Gorilla Rally; the fifth round of the Africa Rally Championship will run from August 12-14 in Nyamata, Rwanda.
As always been the norm each year, over 10 Ugandan crews are yet expected to take on the prestigious rally event in the country of 1000 hills.
Ugandans are tipped for the rally win considering the fewer entries from the Rwanda nationals and Burundian crews. The ARC contenders will engage in their own battles.
The late Riyaz Kurji and Sayed Kadri were the last Ugandan crew to win the event in 2006.
Before Kurji, Charles Muhangi was the first Ugandan driver to enter Rwanda Rally records with victory in 2000.
It is upon the Ugandan crews to direct their strategy towards becoming the first crew to win the rally after ten years.
Among the lined crews, Musa Kabega and Hassan Alwi will be fighting for the National Rally Championship points after switching NRC events with the Rwanda Rally.
Mountain Gorilla Rally will run for three days with a total number of 12 stages covering 214 km competitive.
