Mt. Kenya Epik is Kenya’s toughest seven day cycling race, covering 470 kilometres from Naro Moru around the majestic Mt. Kenya, The race crosses 5 counties bordering the mountain, which include; Nyeri, Laikipia, Kirinyaga, meru and Embu. It will be a 2-person team mountain bike stage race and team members will have to race together for the entire distance of the race, looking after each other and their equipment. The 470 km route of the Mt. Kenya Epik will incorporate thrilling mixture of time trail trails, sweeping moorland paths, country lanes and forest single tracks. Participants will experience stunning views and great support from the local spectators whilst they gain a real sense of satisfaction as they make your way around the great Mountain. A full range of rider abilities are represented, a small number of top riders make the trip but most of the field will be made up of weekend riders just looking to complete the challenge and enjoy themselves while having a laugh with like minded mountain bikers. Mt. Kenya Epik gets its inspiration from South Africa’s biggest mountain Bike race; The ABSA Cape Epic, the organizers of MKE will ensure that the event matches up to the now international event. As a world-class cycling event, Mt. Kenya Epik serves as a valuable platform for company exposure to both an international and local market place.
