The husband and wife crew of Leroy Gomes and Urshilla Gomes will head for Kenya for its second ever Safari Rally.
The crew, which finished second in the recent Zambia’s round of the current African Rally Championship season will tackle the 2019 FIA WRC Candidate Event in a Ford Fiesta R5.
Leroy believes Kenya has some of the best rally drivers in the African Continent.

What are your thoughts your the rally in Kenya – Looking forward to it, very curious about the road conditions and the pace.
Your best score in ARC Rally and in which car – Second overall, in the just ended Zambia International Rally in our Ford
Which other countries have you participated in – Ivory Coast, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda
What is your best position in the final ARC standings and when – 2nd overall in 2017
What is your age – 37 years
Which championships have you won – None yet, hoping to change that very soon.?
Which country do you reside in – Zambia
How many people are in your team – We have 4 cars that race in our team. I’m the only one attending the Safari.
Are they all travelling with you – No.
What is the relationship with your navigator – My wife.
What do you think of the drivers in Kenya – I truly believe they are some of the best in Africa.
Who is among the main challengers – In the Safari, it will be Manvir, Onkar, Baldiv and Carl.
