Finnish driver Tapio Laukkanen was dominant on the opening day of the 2015 KCB Safari rally.
The former British and Finnish champion expressed his urgency for a season double as he led all the three stages of the day.
Tapio holds a one minute 25 second lead over Raaj Bharji in second and just under two minutes of Carl Tundo in third.
KNRC defending champion Baldev Charger settled for 7th, while Uganda’s Jas Mangat finished 10th overall on day one.
The crews will tomorrow head to Lengetia, Loldaiga, Ngare Ndare, Nkunga and Ask Meru spectator stages covering over five stages.
