KAMPALA– Christakis Fitidis will treat the Race to Race Sprint next Sunday as a dress rehearsal for the Shell Pearl of Uganda Rally scheduled for August.
The Rwanda-based driver has just fully recovered from the hernia operation he underwent in December.
“I had to take six months off from the sport following the doctor’s advice,” Fitidis told Saturday Monitor. “But come Sunday (June 1), I will be in Busiika to show off my skills.”
Fitidis, a former Rwanda champion, has been a regular competitor on the Ugandan scene for the past two years. He will be driving a Mitsubishi Evo 6 at Busiika. Jas Mangat, a two-time national champion, who has not participated in any event this season is also expected to break his duck. Read more…
