A new Go Kart Race Track in Kenya will be unveiled this weekend.
The track is situated in Mai Maahiu approx 45 Km from Nairobi. The owners of the track are offering a first practice for 50cc and 60cc karts on 19th September 2015.

The ‘GREAT RIFT VALLEY CIRCUIT’ (TGRV) a private family development, is set on a picturesque 28 acres on the floor of the Rift valley. The facility is easily accessible by road from Naivasha and Nairobi. It takes 45min to 1 hour to the facility from Nairobi. As an added comfort there are twelve double rooms and a clubhouse under construction. We anticipate these to be complete in eight weeks time. The access is by a 3km gravel road from Narok Highway.

After a gruelling and intense 7 months of planning, designing and construction , our children can proudly claim that they have an international standard track to further their motorsport skills. The track has been constructed with 5 configurations that can be run in both directions. All classes of karting from 50cc to an open class will be catered for.

There are fifty two covered pits of 6x3m each and a race control building. Two magnetic strips will give two splits in total. The longest configuration is approx 1.15km, the 60cc configuration is 965m and the 50cc approx 650m.

The pits will be occupied on a first come first serve basis on this practice day only, for future racing we will be taking reservations for the pits.

Due to safety concerns no cars are allowed in the pit area. You will be required to offload your equipment on the offloading bay(at the end and on the left of the concrete driveway as you enter the gate)into your desired pit and park your vehicle in the designated parking area. Please adhere to this mandatory safety regulation.

Again, keeping safety in mind the owners have constructed a 90m concrete pit lane , to cater for clockwise racing, all competitors must drive slowly and raise their hands before they enter the pitlane. Detailed safety procedures will be outlined in our health and safety document to be issued as we commence serious racing in the future.

• On the property there are 12 spacious en-suite double rooms
• Large purpose built clubhouse with a swimming pool & restaurant
• Ample parking
• Ladies and Gents WC with showers

From Maai Mahiu town, turn onto the Road heading to Narok , after approx 3 km turn left( Acacia Candy shop) onto an all weather Murram road. Drive down this road for a further 3km and you will now be able to see the development, bear left for 400m and turn right , follow the Murram road up to the track. We have tried to make the road as passable as possible, you can use a saloon car without any problem.- to be posted on extreme under Motorsport.
