Henry_Wanyoke.jpgMwangi Mukundi clocked 23:50.01 to win the eighth edition of the Henry Wanyoike Foundation-organised “Hope for the Future Run” 7km road race in Kikuyu Township at the weekend.

Nyahururu-based Mukundi, who was making a comeback after a one-and-a-half-year absence, bagged Sh20,000 for his feat. Abigael Wanjiku from Nakuru, who finished fifth in 2012, won the women’s in 27:22.03 ahead of Lydia Njeri (28:15.06) and Mary Mwaniki who clocked 28:44.07.

Sammy Karanja was second in the men’s race after timing 23:55.10, followed by Charles Kemeli in 24:00.00 to pocket Sh15,000 and Sh10,000 respectively.
