Paralympics 1,500m- T.12 World Record holder Samuel Mushai will renew rivalry with Brazil’s Odair Santos in the Rio Paralympics between September 7-18.

Mushai beat Santos at the 2012 London Paralympics when he set the World Record of 3:58.30. Santos settled for silver in London in 4:03.66. In 2011, Santos won gold medal at the International Paralympics Committee World Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand defeating Mushai to second place.

“He beat me on Christchurch, New Zealand, I defeated him on London, UK and here we come again,” intimated Mushai.

The World Record holder said he is looking to give Santos a run for his money as he focuses on winning gold in Rio.

“I am confident that I will perform well in Rio. I am preparing well and all I wish and pray for is good health before and during the Games for me to achieve my targets,” said Mushai, a maize farmer in Kitale who also rears herds of cattle and sheep.
