The dates that posted earlier were for the 13th, 14th and 15th which was a bit of a mistake since we intended the weekend to start on the Friday and continue on to Sunday (the friday race/ride will be in the evening allowing people to drive up that day). The proper dates then are the 12th, 13th and 14th. For those that can’t afford the luxury of missing the friday you can sign up (and pay) for as many days as you would like. We will time the race and we will mark it but a GPS will be required. For those without a GPS you can join others of the same speed. The route is technical but not dangerous and the intention is to host a casual event that is more a festival of riding than a race. For those that want to go fast though, thats also fine.
We are offering campsites along our stretch of the Ewaso Nyiro River as well as a food package. We will also set up a series of long drop toilets and showers in the camping area. Also there will be a main mess tent and a place with a fire pit for communal meat grilling. For those that would like to just come and camp with your own food, that is totally fine.
For other that would like to stay in a lodge, there is Ol-tome Laikipia Camp (only 2 minutes on bike from the start / race camp [6 rooms]). This is run by our neighbor and he is offering a special for 11,000 including food but not alcohol ( http://ol-tomelaikipiacamp.com/ )
Pricing for those that sign up within March below (signups in April will pay a 1000 bob surcharge).
