If Jackson Kiprop had the powers, he would postpone the Commonwealth Games.
One of the biggest sporting events this year, the Club Games start July 23 in Glasgow, Scotland.
“The Games are coming too soon for me,” Kiprop, currently Uganda’s second best marathoner after Olympic champion Stephen Kiprotich, told Daily Monitor in a recent interview. “I won’t be ready.”
Kiprop, hitherto tipped for a medal at the Games, suffered a health scare in January after he was diagnosed with kidney complications at Mulago Hospital.
He fell sick while training in Eldoret, Kenya and was driven to Mulago by compatriot Kiprotich.
The runner was unconscious at the time and could neither talk nor respond to any sign language.
