A team of six Kenyan riders will represent the country in the tour of Gabon cycling championships that begins in Libreville today.

The team include Tour of Rwanda bronze medalist John Njoroge Muya, former runner turned cyclist Benjamin Kipchumba Kogo who is the 2006 Madrid half marathon champion, Paul Ngasike Agorir, Samuel Ekiru and Suleimann Kangangi.

The team was in a camp in Iten since December training along roads in Kaptagat, Kabarnet, Kapsabet, Kitale and Eldoret . The training also included one session a week in and out the Rift valley region under head  coach Australian Simon Blake. The 944km Gabon race begins today and will end on January 20 2013 with the participating teams covering a distance of 149km from Bitam to Ebolowa townships on the first day.
