After landing a fully packaged season’s partnership from Orxy Energies rally driver Peter Kakaire believes he can challenge the top drivers starting with the Mbarara rally on Saturday.

But Kakaire , who will drive a Subaru Impreza N10 will not find it easy, and he expects a lot of competition and speed but he believes the most skillful ones are the ones that will thrive in the year’s competitions.

“We have a lot of new drivers returning to the sport alongside seasoned drivers who have purchased new cars but it will take more than that; the strategies and tactics will also matter a lot and we intend to adjust accordingly,” Kakaire said after having his car fueled at Orxy Energies station in Lugogo yesterday.

The crew of Kakaire and Edward Kiyingi who expect a fast rally in Mbarara because ‘most of the roads have been graded’ is wary of the number of livestock in some sections of the route after encountering several during recce.

“It has always been our mission to support local talent that’s why we identified Kakaire because he has some good reputable experience in the sport and we also want to associate more with the rally fans who are our customers,” Andrew Mugisha Orxy lubricant engineer said at the launch of the partnership.

Kakaire who was a double champion both in the circuits and CRC in 2010 is back after a long break following an accident.

“Being former champions at our debut, I can only say watch this space; with these quality Orxy brands on board we have to excel; and we promise to implement what we say,” Kakaire stated.
