Gurmit Thethy racked-up his maiden career victory in 2WD category as curtains came down on KCB Eldama Ravine Rally in Elgeyo Marakwet county on Saturday. Eric Bengi in a Toyota RunX was second in the category while defending champion Dennis Mwenda completed the podium. Leonardo Varese and his partner Kigo Kareithi finished fourth followed by Nadeem Kana in fifth place. Alasdair Keith and his partner Tariq Malik in a Subaru GC8 won the ‘S’ class while Jonathan Somen and Richard Hechle won Classic Car Cup category in their first appearance of the season in a Ford Escort.
“Our goal for this year is to win the Group ‘S’ title. We are happy to be in the lead at the moment and we can’t afford to be complacent,” said Keith. Ford Escort’s Somen clocked 2:30:45hrs to finish 13th overall—over and above his classic glory. Read more…..
