After years of trying, Adin Haq “Paps” navigated by Stuart Cohen in a Range Rover eBowler finally laid his hands on the car class diadem when the JCB/Ganatra National Rally Raid ended at the Mbweha camp in Soysambu on Sunday.

Also triumphant in the wet and muddy conditions were youngster Tejas Hirani and his navigator Riyaz Ismail on their very first outing in their new Rage Buggy.

Notable absentee was quad class champion Shazar Anwar who couldn’t make it to Soysambu due to pressing job commitments. In Shazar’s absence, Vincent Boulanger rode his ‘monster’ Can Am-Renegade quad to his second successive victory of the season.

This was a significant win for Boulanger given that Shazar’s absence worked to his advantage. Shazar won the quad class for the fifth consecutive occasion but skipping the second event at the weekend saw his hopes for sixth title diminish. Read more…
