Following his unconvincing performance this season, Adam Essa Rauf has once again sought the expertise of Finnish driver Tapio Laukennen to turn around his fortunes.
Laukennen flew in with all his service crew to assist Essa with just 10 days to the fourth NRC round in Fort Portal on July 4th-5th.
“Yes its true Tapio and his whole service team came in to rebuild my car and maintain it to be in shape,” he told Kawowo sports.
Essa has only finished the opening round of the NRC despited crawling to the finish. He has dropped out of all events since.
Essa set himself to be among the top drivers this years. That however remains a far-flung prospect as the Mitsubishi driver has accumulated 10 points in three events.
The Fort portal rally will be Essa’s fourth rally this year and he is positive about his chances this time round.
“The car has some how cost me in the previous results, but I hope to do better after its rebuilt,” says Essa.
