Kenya’s miserable run at the World Indoor Championships persisted after Viola Cheptoo finished eighth in the women’s 1500m on Saturday in Portland, Oregon, USA.

Despite Cheptoo finishing eighth out of the nine competitors on the track, the Kenyan managed to post her Season Best (PB) by timing 4:10.45.
In the race Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands clinched her first global title in 4:04.96 with 23 year old Dutch national followed home by Ethiopia’s Dawit Seyaum and Gudaf Tsegay, who ran 4:04.96 and 4:05.71 respectively to round out the podium.
