Ambrose Byona was impressed with his new car after having a first feel of it on Sunday.
‘Katoto’ as commonly referred to swapped his Mitsubishi Pajero for a Mitsubishi Evo9.
The Mitsubishi formerly owned by Kuku Ranjeet has shown flashes of pace since its arrival in Uganda.
Now its new owner is eager to get a better placing in the month ending Gorillas in the Mist rally in Kabale.
“The Evo 9 is the best thing that has happened to me. The car is very soft, quicker and easy to manage,” he said after testing.
“If any one makes a mistake in the next event I will be in top five,” he asserted.
Byona got his rally career off to an impressive start maintaining consistency and a top six placing last year.
He is now eager to get the opening season ghosts off him having failed to complete the Mbarara rally in January.
“I guarantee my fans to have more fun from me than before.”
“However, given that the terrain is new we shall first take it easy for the first stages and eventually add on power in the last stages of the event,” he added.
