Oldie Jonathan Savage in a Datsun 260Z takes on his sons Quentin and Russell Savage in a similar make in November’s Kenya Airways East African Safari Classic Rally. All Kenyan crew of Quentin and Russell have previously tackled the Safari Classic with a British sports car from the 1960s, a Triumph GT6.
Another siblings rivalry will pit Onkar Rai and his elder brother Tejveer. the two have raced against one another in the Kenya National Rally Championship!
Tejveer, who will be making his classic debut is a leading driver in KNRC Division 1 this year while Onkar who finished fifth in the 2013 Classic is fighting to uphold his status in KNRC Premier Division, which is a composition of 11 fastest drivers.
The Rai brothers now look set to come face to face in the Safari Classic with Onkar enlisting defending Kenya champion Baldev Chager again as his navigator.
Multiple Kenya Champion Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo and his dad Frank will put behind family ties as they chase top honours in the Classic.
Both Flash and his Dad Frank are tackling all the eight rounds of the 2015 Kenya National Rally Championship in Group N machines but meticulously building their rare makes of the Triumph TR7 V8 that they will drive in November.
While Frank Tundo will be making his debut in the event, Carl looks to savour his fourth appearance after navigating Alastair Cavenagh on three occasions ( 2005, 2011 and 2013).
