Milca_Chemos.pngWorld champions Asbel Kiprop and Eunice Sum have been entered to run in the Diamond League meeting in Rome today despite an earlier warning by Athletics Kenya.

The two were among the eight athletes who were barred from participating in the Rome meeting due to their poor performance and fatigue in the grand prix circuit. Others are world 3,000m steeplechase champion Milcah Chemos, Alfred Kipketer, Lydia Chepkurui, Purity Kirui, James Magut and Collins Cheboi.

Kiprop looked to be out of sorts during the mile event at the Prefontaine Classic over the weekend in Oregon and finished a poor seventh in 3:50.26. He then cited fatigue from the recent World Relay Championships in Bahamas as a reason for the poor performance.
