Eight top local swimming clubs are set for their first battles in the water on July 11-12 at the 1st Uganda Swimming Federation National Inter-Club Swimming Championships at Gems Cambridge International School in Batabika.
The clubs include giants Dolphins swim club and Seals swim club other notable clubs include fast-rising Altona swim club, Makerere University Kampala, Gliders swim club, Sharks Teens swim club, 2000’s All Star.
The championships will see close to 100 swimmers battling in 141 events over two days of action with the strongest battle being between Dolphins swim club and Seals swim club, who recently won the first Seals Swim Club Invitational.
The organisers of the championships Uganda Swimming Federation expect swimmers to set new swimming records and also improve their times in the water as this will be a good event to build momentum ahead of the All Africa Games in Brazzaville, Congo in September.
