As rally crews gear up for the opening leg of the 2016 Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) in Kajiado next week, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Group renewed its sponsorship for the season to the tune of Sh45 million.
KCB said it was happy to extend its relationship with Kenya Motor Sports Federation (KMSF) for the 14th year running during the official launch at the Ngong Race Course on Wednesday.
“We are happy to continue supporting one of the best series in Africa with the mind to make it better for the drivers, fans and our customers,” said Job Njiru, KCB Head of Customer Experience, who is also the reigning KNRC Division Three Navigator Champion.
Angela Mwirigi, KCB Marketing Director, said: “We are committed to continued investments in supporting sports in the country and beyond in our resolve to nurture talent.”
While congratulating KMSF for doing a good job, Commissioner of Sport, Gordon Olouch, urged the body to follow the Sports Act.
“It is important for KMSF to follow the Sports Act. We would like to extend our hands to the federation with more support as long as the rules are followed,” said Olouch.
The Kenya Motor Sports Club will run the KCB Kajiado Rally.
The first part of the programme begins with scrutineering on February 26 at the Shell Fuel Station on Waiyaki Way.
The rally will start at the KCB Kajiado branch on February 27.
